- Information submitted through the contact form.
- Booking details, availability and time zone.
- Information you choose to share about your guitar experience, musical interests and learning goals.
- Details needed to arrange and provide lessons.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the contact form unless it is genuinely necessary for us to respond to your request.
3. Why we use your information
Responding to enquiries and arranging discovery calls
We use your contact details and message to respond to you, understand what you are looking for and arrange a discovery call. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Providing guitar lessons
If you become a student, we use relevant contact, scheduling and learning information to organise lessons, personalise tuition, communicate with you and provide the service you requested. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you.
Payments, invoices and business records
We use transaction and billing information to receive payment, issue invoices, maintain accounts and meet tax and legal obligations. The legal bases are performance of our contract and compliance with legal obligations.
Website operation and security
Technical information may be used to operate the website, diagnose faults, prevent misuse, maintain security and protect our services. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure and reliable website.
Marketing
We will only send optional promotional email where you have specifically requested it or another lawful basis applies. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not add contact-form enquiries to a marketing list automatically.
4. Is providing information compulsory?
You are not required to contact us. However, we need the information marked as required on a form to respond to your enquiry or arrange a booking. If you become a student, certain contact, scheduling and billing information will be necessary to provide lessons and manage payment.
5. Who receives your information?
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be processed by carefully selected providers where necessary to operate the website and deliver the service, including:
- OVHcloud, which hosts the website and may process technical logs and website data.
- Microsoft 365 and GoDaddy, where used to provide business email and domain-related services.
- Calendly or another booking provider, where you use the online booking facility.
- Video-conferencing providers used to deliver online lessons.
- Banks, payment services and accounting providers involved in payments, invoices and business administration.
- Professional advisers, insurers, courts, regulators or public authorities where disclosure is necessary or legally required.
Some providers act as processors on our instructions. Others may act as independent controllers for parts of their service. Their own privacy notices provide further information about how they process personal data.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside Spain, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we require an appropriate legal transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another safeguard permitted by applicable data-protection law.
7. Booking services and third-party content
The booking page may display content provided by Calendly or another booking service. When this content loads, the provider may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser details and may use cookies or similar technologies.
Links to Instagram and other external websites take you to services operated by third parties. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this policy.
8. Cookies
The website may use essential technical cookies required for security, administration and basic operation. These do not require consent where they are strictly necessary.
Embedded booking tools, analytics, videos or other third-party content may use additional cookies. Where legally required, these technologies should only be activated after you have made a choice through the website's cookie controls.
If analytics, advertising pixels, embedded videos or other non-essential tracking services are added later, this policy and the website's cookie information will be updated before those services are enabled.
9. How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are normally retained for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Booking information is normally retained for up to 12 months after the relevant call, unless it becomes part of an ongoing student relationship.
- Student communications and lesson-related records are kept while lessons are being provided and ordinarily for up to 12 months afterwards, unless longer retention is reasonably required.
- Invoices, accounting records and associated business documentation may be retained for at least six years where required by Spanish commercial, tax or accounting law.
- Technical and security records are retained according to the relevant hosting and security-provider schedules and only for as long as reasonably necessary.
- Information used with consent is retained until consent is withdrawn, unless we must retain limited information to record the withdrawal or meet another legal obligation.
Information may be retained for longer where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, respond to a legal requirement or resolve an active dispute.
10. Information about children
Bookings and contractual arrangements for students under 18 must be made or approved by a parent or legal guardian. We may therefore process the parent or guardian's contact and billing information alongside limited information about the student.
Please do not submit personal information about a child unless you are authorised to do so. If we discover that information has been provided without appropriate authority, we may delete it.
11. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
To exercise a right, contact matt@mrkmusic.com . We may need to request information reasonably necessary to confirm your identity.
You also have the right to submit a complaint to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or, where applicable, another competent supervisory authority.
12. Automated decisions
We do not use your personal information to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid sending unnecessary confidential information through ordinary email or the contact form.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, services, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
15. Contact
Questions about this policy or the use of your information can be sent to matt@mrkmusic.com .
