But I do not want you to finish a lesson only knowing how to play that song. I want you to understand why it works, recognise the patterns and build the confidence to learn the next one on your own.

Meet Matt King
A teacher who cares where this takes you.
I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and teaching for the last eight. Like many players, I spent years trying to find the right teacher. Some helped me improve. One helped me fall in love with playing.
That experience shaped how I teach. My aim is to help you enjoy the guitar, understand what you are doing and become confident enough that one day you will not need me any more.
If I do not think I am the best person to help, I will say so. Finding the right teacher matters.

It may not be right if...
You are looking for advanced metal technique or high-speed shred guitar. There are excellent teachers who specialise in that, and I would be happy to point you towards one.

Before we talk
Do I need any experience?
Not at all. Complete beginners are welcome. We will start with the basics and build at a pace that feels manageable.
How do online lessons work?
Lessons take place by video call. You will need a guitar, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. We will cover the best setup during the discovery call.
How often should I have lessons?
Weekly lessons are the best place to start. They give us enough time to build momentum while leaving space to practise what we cover.
Is the discovery call a free lesson?
No. It is a relaxed 30-minute conversation about your goals, current playing and whether we are a good fit. There is no pressure to book afterwards.
